Review product clarity, variants, fit, delivery, returns and measurement before sending more paid traffic to your ecommerce store.

Before increasing acquisition spend, walk through an actual product decision on a phone. These nine checks form a practical review of the journey from a campaign click to a retained order. They are diagnostic prompts, not a promise of a particular conversion lift.

1. Does the landing product match the advertisement?

Compare the creative, offer and destination. Check that the advertised product, variant and price are available. If a campaign promotes a collection, the landing page should help shoppers find that collection rather than make them search the whole catalogue again.

2. Can a buyer understand the product from the images?

Review image quality, relevant detail and context. A saree buyer may need weave and blouse-piece detail; a footwear buyer may need the shape and sizing context. Avoid relying on decorative images that leave important product questions unanswered.

3. Are the buying specifications complete?

Check materials, dimensions, care and what is included. Choose specifications that fit the product. For fashion, measurements matter; for a custom hair product, length and option details may matter. Do not add unsupported claims simply to make the description more persuasive.

4. Are variants and stock states obvious?

Try selecting every available size, colour or other option. A sold-out variant should be distinguishable, and the cart should contain the option the shopper selected. Test whether the first displayed price applies to the chosen configuration.

5. Is fit guidance available where it is needed?

Place relevant guidance close to the selection decision. Review customer questions and exchange reasons to identify missing information. For fashion brands and footwear businesses, size-related returns should be part of the review alongside conversion.

6. Can the buyer understand delivery before checkout?

Check supported destinations, processing time and shipping information. If the product is made to order, say so clearly. Test the experience with a real serviceable postcode and a destination outside your delivery area.

7. Are return and exchange conditions clear?

Make applicable policies easy to find and consistent with checkout communication. Explain relevant restrictions without hiding them in an unexpected place. Review support conversations to learn which conditions customers misunderstand.

8. Does the mobile purchase flow work?

Complete variant selection, add to cart and the available checkout steps on a phone. Watch for obstructive overlays, tiny controls and information that disappears when the cart opens. Use an approved test method for payment verification rather than creating unwanted orders.

9. Can you distinguish orders from retained revenue?

Check how purchases, discounts, cancellations and returns appear in reporting. Agree on the economics that matter before deciding whether a higher advertising budget is justified. A purchase event is useful, but it is not the whole profit calculation.

Prioritise faults that prevent a purchase or create a material misunderstanding, then review less critical improvements. Keep a record of the issue, affected products, owner and outcome.

For search discovery, Google’s ecommerce site-structure guidance explains the role of links between categories and products. That complements this buying-journey review; it does not replace it.
